The School of Monsters: Learn and Play series bridges the gap between school and home to ignite the spark of learning. Kids getting ready for kinder and school will love practising real schoolwork with their friends at the School of Monsters – in a funny, silly (and smelly) way!

These teacher-approved School of Monsters phonics workbook can be used to promote school readiness or in conjunction with schoolwork! 
There are 44 spoken sounds in English and approximately 200 ways of spelling these sounds. This pack contains the phonics sounds children will most likely be taught first, and it is designed to help them start learning to read and spell.

• The workbook includes the most used alphabet sounds, then common consonant (digraphs/trigraphs) and other vowel sounds.
• Familiar words and characters from the beloved School of Monsters will encourage children to apply their phonics knowledge and grow their vocabulary!
• Worksheets will help children learn the sounds of combinations of letters in a fun and memorable way.
• Includes instructions for adults on how to guide and encourage a child’s phonic learning journey.
• All Victorian, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australian government schools are required to use systematic synthetic phonics as part of their comprehensive reading programs from 2025.
