The present can change the past.

A man on the run from a relentless killer stumbles into a mysterious lab, accidentally triggers a time machine, and sends himself back an hour. Suddenly, he finds himself entangled in a nightmarish loop where reality blurs and terror reigns. A naked woman, unconscious in the forest. A cloaked stranger, with a face covered in bloodied bandages. A disquieting hilltop mansion. And Hctor, a man whose curiosity threatens to unravel the very fabric of time. Each of them pieces of an unpredictable jigsaw puzzle, where every moment ratchets up the suspense, and every twist plunges you deeper into a web of fear, drama, and mind-bending intrigue. Who is the murderer? Who is the victim? In TIMECRIMES, nothing is as it seems. Prepare for a heart-pounding journey where time is both a trap and the only key to survival. Dive into this riveting tale and question everything you think you know about causality and crime in Nacho Vigalondos (Colossal) unforgettable directorial debut.

PRODUCT REVIEWS

Héctor (Karra Elejalde) is having a terrible day. After grocery shopping, he returns to his beautiful countryside home only to discover that the boot of his car wasn't properly closed, resulting in the loss of a significant portion of his groceries. When he arrives home, he is greeted by his partner, Clara (Candela Fernández). Their home is currently undergoing renovations, and everything feels chaotic. After some light conversation in the backyard, they agree that Clara will pick something up for dinner, allowing Héctor to enjoy some quiet time. While sitting in the backyard with his binoculars, Héctor begins to observe the forest behind their large home. However, during his exploration, he notices something strange and unexplainable. To investigate further, Héctor decides to go for a walk. However, he soon discovers that a terrible crime has been committed, and he is being chased by a mysterious figure wearing a pink bandage and armed with scissors. Naturally, Héctor runs for his life, desperately seeking safety. In the chaos, he is stabbed in the arm but continues to flee. Eventually, Héctor comes across a building and, in desperation, breaks in. Inside, he encounters a scientist (Nacho Vigalondo) who knows about the man with the pink bandage. The scientist offers to help Héctor by placing him inside a large machine. Given the dire circumstances, Héctor agrees. When the machine reopens, Héctor makes an astonishing discovery: he has travelled back in time by approximately one hour. This newfound ability to return to the past allows him to investigate further and uncover the truth behind the bizarre and inexplicable events around him. Can Héctor find the answers he seeks amid the chaos? "Timecrimes" blends multiple genres, including horror, thriller, and science fiction. The film was written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, known for other works such as "Colossal" (2016), "Open Windows" (2016), and "Pooka!" (2018). This film stands out for its cleverness in every aspect. The plot is well-written and expertly crafted, introducing many innovative concepts through horror and time travel. Although viewers may predict certain elements once they understand the film's intentions, the finale and significant reveals in the third act are highly unpredictable and immensely satisfying, making it a thrilling experience for the audience. I had an absolute blast watching Timecrimes. The film is intelligent, clever, and creative, and I appreciated how it handled even the minor details exceptionally well. It’s a thrilling experience filled with surprises and is largely unpredictable. The plot is structured to allow viewers to understand what’s happening and anticipate certain developments, especially regarding the finale. The performances are strong, and the entire cast is compelling. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrillers, particularly Triangle from 2009. * This review has been written for Sanity.
