Imagine a United States, once the world's oldest democracy, as a nation where political leaders share power with religious leaders. Former president David Kahn wants to return to the presidency at any cost including handing power and control of the country to one religious organization, the Catholic Church, so he can return to the White House and finish what he started in his first term as president, stealing the nation's treasures. James Whitmore, a non-descript retired county worker from Missoula, Montana, has vowed to stop Kahn and because Whitmore has been given a death sentence by his doctors he vows to risk it all to protect the U.S. constitution and the country's democracy and to preserve separation of church and state. Whitmore sells everything and moves to Florida and works his way into the Kahn campaign and quickly realizes Kahn is not the only threat to the United States. He also learns he may not have the fortitude to complete his task of neutralizing Kahn politically.
