Andrew Buchanan discovers that John Stride, an employee in his bank, is his son. Terrified of exposure he can’t reveal this even when John starts sleeping with his daughter. The bank is in grave difficulty, Andrew’s marriage is in tatters, his wife is a psychopath and his general manager is plotting his downfall.

Unaware of his paternity and despite his charm, intelligence and ruthless ambition, John Stride is sucked into a world of drugs, prostitutes and corruption which threatens to destroy his stellar career and perhaps even his life. His family become caught in overlapping circles of deceit and revenge, ambition and despair, love and lust, greed and disappointment from which they do not all emerge alive.
