As a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer, Henry has released numerous successful albums over the years, characterized by their rich fusion of folk, jazz, and blues influences. This record features several of his closest musical companions, including The Milk Carton Kids as well as Lisa Hannigan, who co-wrote the title track along with Henry and best-selling novelist Colum McCann. As much as anything, perhaps these are all songs about marriage marriage as a verb, not a noun: not a thing to be possessed but a habit of one's being., Henry himself describes the narrative of the album.
