The block U-Boot TYPE XXVII "SEEHUND" was developed in 1:72 scale. The 1:144 scale used so far for submarines turned out to be too small for such a small submarine. The use of the 1:72 scale made it possible to reproduce the characteristic shapes of a real ship.
