When at 8:09 pm EST, on April 14th, 1970 Apollo 13 turned for home, the fifteen ton third stage of the Saturn V lunch Vehicle crashed to the moon with a force of eleven and a half tons of TNT, causing it to ring like a bell, as recorded by the very seismometer the astronauts of Apollo 12 left behind, eighty-five miles east-southeast of the impact.
