PRODUCT REVIEWS

Franklin (Josh Hutcherson) is a well-known tech blogger who writes about everything related to the medical industry. In the present day, above anything else, Franklin is eager to interview tech giant Anton (Morgan Freeman). By a stroke of luck, when Anton is attacked while presenting his latest product on stage, Franklin saves his life and, in return, accepts his invitation to be interviewed. After Anton walks away, Franklin finds a strange ring that he believes belonged to Anton, who must have dropped it during the struggle and attack. Franklin looks after the ring but soon discovers a surprising new feature. The ring can take Franklin back in time by 57 seconds. With the ring, Franklin learns how to earn great fortune and even succeed with the woman who piques his interest, and more, he hopes to use the ring to take down mean-spirited health cooperation. Can Franklin continue to keep his newfound secret all to himself, or will he get discovered? If you've seen "Next" from 2007 and enjoyed it, you find plenty to admire here. Funny enough, while the premise of 57 Seconds is quite simple and easy to follow, the storyline and concept are highly familiar, and various outcomes are predictable, particularly the critical choices that come from Franklin. That being said, Josh Hutcherson is the best part of the entire film and brings a strong presence of likability. The film's finale, however, feels rushed and feels like it was created as a last-minute afterthought. It's a fine film, but sadly, nothing overly memorable or outstanding enough for a repeat viewings. * This review has been written for Sanity. 57 Seconds is a time travel thriller about a tech blogger lands an interview with a tech guru and stops an attack on him. I thought this was a cool little thriller with a great premise executed pretty well with some cool action scenes and solid performances from Josh Hutcherson and Morgan Freeman. 6/10
