Starting with his first album «Summer of Thought» (2009), «The Cape» (2012), «Back into the Woods» (2016), «The Republic of Trees» (2019), etc. Songwriter Park Jong-hyun's 4th regular album «Son» (nominated for Best Folk Album and Best Folk Song at the 2023 Korean Music Awards) will be released on vinyl.

The title "hand" is both the hand of the 'worker' and the hand of the 'guest', and is a word that shows the character of this album. In all the songs on this album, which claims to be a collaborative album, Park Jong-hyun intentionally leaves one of the key points of the work he has done on his own, such as composition, arrangement, and singing, in the hands of other musicians. This attempt, which began to find a new space for expression, away from the writing method accustomed to matching one's own voice and character for over a decade, was completed with the willing hands of eight fellow musicians.
Eight musicians, 9 (Song Jae-kyung), Kwon Wol, Kim Sa-wol, Kang A-sol, Kim Il-doo, Park Hye-ri, Lee Seung-jun, and Hong Gap participated in songwriting, composing, or arranging each track. As singer-songwriters who shine in their own colors, they and Park Jong-hyun created a new song together by mixing each other's colors like paint or putting them next to each other. The writings written by Park Jong-hyun meet and collide with the breathing of other musicians, and his breathing struggles with the melody and atmosphere created by other musicians. The eight songs completed in the intended tension are tied together as narratives in the album, but on the other hand, they are revealed in a variety of colors that vary depending on the collaborator.
As if thinking about directing and stage setting according to the script, the music was designed according to the lyrics and the voice of the character singing it, so each song was composed of different genres and different instruments. To this end, performers such as Min Sang-yong, Yang Hyeon-mo (drums), Lee Dong-jun (bass), Park Hye-ri (accordion), Hong Gap and Jang Hyeon-ho (guitar), Lim I-hwan (cello), and Kwon Wol (piano) completed the song. The color difference between the tracks is more prominent due to the mixing (Min Sang-yong) with a different orientation and emphasis for each song. Kim Ki-jo (cover design), Byun In-hee (logo design), and Resop (video production and painting) created a visual image that harmonizes with music. In other words, several characters have appeared in the new chapter of “Summer of Thought,” which was close to a monodrama. So many different colors and sounds have been added, but as you follow the stories and voices in each song, they will come together.
You will be able to sense a <hand> that is intertwined. Let's cross this world together, a friendly song that passes like a hand.
