Arisu season 3. Third story - Yu-hee-yo

Now, Arisu, a female folk song group that sings folk songs of this era, 5th album

Released 'Let's Play with the Arirang Tree'

Newly arranged by collecting handed down Yu-Gi-Yo

The female folk song group 'Arisu' (CEO Park Tae-seung) will release their 5th regular album, “Let's Play with the Arirang Tree” on the 20th.

It is an album made up of Yu-hee-yo, the flower of folk songs. There are 7 songs included, and they contain amusement songs from various regions such as Gyeonggi-do, Jeolla-do, Gyeongsang-do, and Hwanghae-do. These are songs that have been newly created by arranging using the original form of a folk song or taking a phrase from a folk song.

Yuhuiyo is a song that is sung for orderly progress when playing games on holidays, competing or competing with villages.

In addition, songs that were sung to cheer up while enjoying arts or drinking alcohol belong to Yuhuiyo. Not for work, but for play and entertainment

Because it is a redundant song, it contains humor, love, and optimism. The songs sung during play contain specific functions and contents of play progress.

A story board or a song that excites people when enjoying art is sometimes referred to as a 'non-functional song'. It contains the contents of contemplating life and leisurely.

Arisu's 5th album, "Let's play with the Arirang tree," included play, taste, and contemplation of life.

The album's title song, 'Taepyeongga', is a new folk song created in the 1930s and has been sung by masters of folk songs in Gyeonggi even after liberation.

It is a life full of upsetting things, but it contains optimistic content to live while having fun.

In this album, the lyrical atmosphere was arranged so that the clear voice of the Gyeonggi Pansori singer could harmonize.

'Let's play Heung-gebang-ge' is a modern song created by taking the refrain from 'Heung-ge-bang-ge-taryeong' in Jinan, Jeollabuk-do.

Instead of traditional folk song lyrics, lyrics describing the lives of today's young people suffering from employment wars were substituted.

'Nosesori' is an arrangement of folk songs from Yecheon, North Gyeongsang Province. Arisu’s Namdo Pansori singer sings the front song, and another Pansori singer says ‘Nose Nose Kangma Kung Kung Nose’.

It was composed by taking advantage of the prototype of the received folk song. 'Saseol Nanbongga' is one of several Nanbongga songs in Hwanghae-do. Marimba, conga, bongo, etc.

Several Western percussion instruments were introduced into the arrangement to bring out the fun lyrics and melodies unique to Nanbongga. Usually, Gyeongseo is also a song sung by singers.

In this album, a Namdo singer was also sung together to create a different tone. 'Cheongchunga' is a new folk song that began to be sung in Gyeonggi Province.

Love and the ephemerality of time are contained in the lyrics. Based on the arrangement of the lyrical atmosphere, Arisu's match singer Lee Mi-ri showed off her skills to the fullest.

'Gunbam Taryeong', which is widely known to the public for its cheerful rhythm and melody, is included. Contrary to the title, the original lyrics have nothing to do with roasted chestnuts, so there is a unique sense of humor.

This song was sung by Arisu's Gyeonggi Pansori singer Kim Hyeon-jeong. In the middle, it is interesting that the rapper composed the lyrics of the original song as a rap.

The last track contains the folk song 'Chilgok Flower Song' of Chilgok, North Gyeongsang Province. The lyrics of this song compare ordinary women in the neighborhood to various flowers.

Although it is a folk song with a simple melodic structure, it was newly arranged to express the delicate emotions of a woman who loves pretty things.

Arisu decided the 'season' system as an activity method that completes everything from the selection of themes to the production of albums and performances. Currently, 'Season 3' is in progress.

Since 2014, Arisu has been recreating and announcing a new theme, such as women, labor, and entertainment, and recreates folk songs related to them as fusion folk songs.

“Let’s play with the Arirang tree” released in 2016 is the third story of Arisu season 3. In 2014, she released her 3rd album, “Women, Scattered with Arirang Flowers”.

He produced and announced the creative folk song “Arirang Flower of Three Women”. In 2015, she released “Arirang Tree, Singing the Roots”, a collection of Japanese songs.

Arisu was founded in 2005 and celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and held a commemorative performance. Arisu means 'Arirang + Tree = Arirang Tree'

As the new decade begins, the theme of the new album is 'Yuheeyo', a song of play and rest. Arisu's music director Yoon Seok-young said, "It is also the etymology of 'song'.

In order to think about folk songs with the meaning of 'play, rest' at the center, I took the theme of 'Yu-hee-yo'.” And, “everyone lives a busy life

These days, with the exhilaration and optimism of Yoo Hee-yo, the album contains the desire to take a deep breath and live.”

Folk songs have been the strength of our lives since ancient times, and have been our very lives. Arisu puts up the slogan of 'singing the life of this era now'

I am constantly working on putting the lives of modern people into folk songs. We hope that efforts to modernize and recreate folk songs will be widely known and acknowledged to reach a wide audience
