, ø, the name of a new land
. Eurasia was like that for me. There is a band with the name of a continent, and a name that combines two continents. They are based in two cities, Changwon and Seoul, and after knowing that members from both Korea and Japan are together, my curiosity about Eurasia grew even more, so I was very happy to hear the release of their first full album [ø].
This album consists of two parts, as if connecting the identity of 'Hap'. An album with a structure that is divided into O and I according to the concept and working method of the songs, and becomes ø when they are put together. If O is based on rock (“We're rock kid”, in the lyrics), I has a freewheeling (“We're nomad”, in the lyrics) electronic sound and colorful rhythms. It may seem like a complex composition, but when you listen to the entire album, surprisingly, all of these stories are intuitively understood. While the vocals and chorus create Eurasian unique lyricism, the sounds they have built up or gathered together are harmoniously harmonious while asserting their respective identities. In addition to the presence as a fixed combination, it is also attractive that each sound comes differently at each time, as if individual sounds have vitality depending on where you listen. In addition, thanks to the various imagery scattered throughout the lyrics - flowers, sky, sea, fish, land,
desert, sun, moon, etc. - serving as important milestones in the journey of appreciating the entire album, we feel that Eurasia is a new land [ø ] and can explore in their own way.
