Thesoftly melting snow, the dark blue dawn, and the ivory light of a small light that spreads softly in the deep night. When you listen to SURL's song, complex images that are difficult to describe with precise words color your ears. The firecrackers in the night sky faintly disappear with afterimages, and after the rain, Jill is engraved on the ground and at the same time it is a footstep that is soft and vaguely longing. In 2018, when I first heard SURL’s music, I felt like déjà vu.

Whenever I listen to SURL's music, I draw a landscape. The lyrics are suggestive like poetry and do not enumerate many stories. However, the images that emerge between sentences remain like afterimages in my mind, completing a story like a short film. SURL's 1st full album [of us] also draws a story in front of one's eyes with a fantastic yet cool gaze. Starting with 'Rope', which raises tension like the opening of a movie, the 10 songs show movies of various genres moving back and forth between the characters called SURL. '

Like a fire that is warm but hot, wants to touch but hurts, youth has an ambivalent meaning. Young people who are excited and beating, but who live an intangible life without substance, cry, laugh, run, and walk, and take a step today.
