Half of the tracks heard on this CD were taped at a concert by Duke Ellington and his band in Seattle, Washington. This music was first issued not long after recording and shows the band in a different light. With the advent of the LP, the Duke was able to record some extended arrangements but he and his band rarely sounded more at ease than on the items heard on this CD. Features the songs Skin Deep / How Could You Do A Thing Like That To Me (Sultry Serenade) / Sophisticated Lady / Caravan / Harlem Suite / The Hawk Talks / Ellington Medley / Don't Get Around Much Any More / In A Sentimental Mood / Mood Indigo / I'm Beginning To See The Light / Prelude To A Kiss / It Don't Mean A Thing / Solitude and others.
