Matt Reeves “The Batman” is a modern day Detective Neo-Noir comic book character study with Batman. Taking much inspiration from that genre, no comic book film before this has come close to being as accurate to the source material. Batman is and has always been a crime fighting detective. This film showcases the best sides of that. Whether it’s vengeance carrying pain under the cape or it’s Bruce Wayne roaming the plagued streets of hell.The Gotham Matt reeves has created is the most atmospheric on screen depiction yet. Featuring a plethora of talented actors on screen, we are treated to some of the best performances of the year. Michael G’s original musical score is a highlight as it will leave you replaying the theme over & over again. No comic book film has ever made me feel more encapsulated emotion, thrills & joy then this film has. Im happy to say we have the best True purist Batman film ever. I truely believe “The Batman” to be a cinematic masterpiece by all standards & one day to be an absolute cult classic hit. The 4K transfer looks & sounds incredible!

Set during his second year of fighting crime as the Caped Crusader, The Batman (Robert Pattinson) discovers dark secrets relating to corruption.  But corruption isn't the only major threat for The Batman.  Lurking around Gotham City is a dangerous serial killer who calls himself The Riddler.  We soon learn that The Riddler desires to play a new game with Batman leaving him clues at each crime scene. Batman is determined to reveal the truth and defeat each Riddle to save the city.  As more clues are discovered, Batman must also find the truth about his own past, leaving him questioning elements about his family, The Waynes.  This version of Batman is more of a thriller instead of just another action-packed blockbuster following a superhero from one wild action stunt to the next.  With The Riddler conducting bloody kills and raising many mysteries, the question is can The Batman discover all the truths, save Gotham and stop The Riddler before it's too late? Many people were baffled when the news went live that Robert Pattinson was to play Bruce Wayne (aka The Batman), but I'm proud to announce that he does a fantastic job.  His version of Batman is highly different to other Batman films, but it's entertaining and impressive.  Robert Pattinson is convincing in moments of action as The Batman, but his mannerisms as Bruce Wayne are also perfect.  I loved seeing how Pattinson handles emotion, delivers threatening stares and firmly speaks vengeance to criminals. Side performers are also well cast.  Paul Dano was a worthy villain as The Riddler, creepy and menacing.  For the sake of spoilers, that's all I can say.  Zoe Kravitz brings delight here too, even more so whenever she interacts with Batman.  Colin Farrell also a major stands out as Oswald Cobblepot (aka the Penguin), and his whole transformation and performance left me speechless and shocked.  Jeffery Wright as Gordon nails it and thankfully is given a solid amount of screen time. Overall, this is a Batman film that's different and very entertaining.  Matt Reeves shows fans the best looking Gotham City fans have ever seen.  Filled with well-cast characters, especially Robert Pattinson, The Batman reveals a whole new story that is more of a thriller than an outrageous action film.  Visuals, sound effects and film musical scores are praiseworthy.  Batman fans are in for a treat as they join the great detective on a twisted journey. * This review has been written for Sanity.
