PRODUCT REVIEWS

One star off for catering to the "woke" agenda by having Bond not only killed but having his number taken by a black female operative. Led me to boycott the theatrical release and wait for bluray. Thankfully the woman handled the situation with dignity and respect for Bond so the wokeness was not as bad as it could have been. Still, with Bond dead, it's hard to see how he will "return" in another episode. I'm betting on a "Bond Jr." child by another lover.

Audiences around the world had to wait a long time to see ‘No Time To Die’, arguably one of the biggest movie events of the pandemic, ‘No Time To Die’ is Daniel Craigs fifth and final performance as the iconic character. This instalment follows the events of ‘Spectre’ showing Bond in retirement, but this does not last as a new villain threatens the very fabric of society with a new biological weapon. As a fan of Bond, naturally I was incredibly excited to see this film but was it worth the very long wait? ‘No Time To Die’ is now my second favourite Bond film. I had so much fun with this film, the action was incredibly well handled by director Cary Joji Fukunaga. The cast are all great with Craig proving once again that he may just be the best James Bond of all time. The film also hits some subtle emotional beats that work incredibly well in the context of the film. The emotional core of this film is stronger than Bond has been in previous instalments of the near 60 year old franchise. Rami Malek also showed how menacing he can be as the films villain. He is truly unnerving on screen and proves to be a worthy advisory for Bond. All in all, ‘007: No time To Die’ was fantastic. It was exactly what I wanted from a final Bond film in Daniel Craig’s impressive 15 year tenure as the character. Its full of groegous shots, great action set pieces and one of the best Bond storylines for quite some time. I loved it. I am giving this one a 4.5/5. Continuing from Spectre, James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeline (Lea Seydoux) is attempting to live a free and quiet life, but it’s sadly short-lived. Bond has moved on from working as a secret agent but soon gets a visit Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), who provides new intel. The intel revealed puts Bond back into action, along with new mysteries that are also introduced. The question is, can James Bond trust anyone close to him? No Time To Die introduces a brand new threat that could yet again destroy the world. Not only do we have Bond having to take on a new enemy, but many mysteries surround each character, new and returning. I found myself watching and questioning multiple times if leading characters had secrets or had perhaps become bad. The mysteries, along with the many twists and turns, were what held my excitement and general investment. It’s evident that as Daniel Craig walks away from the role permanently after this fifth appearance, the filmmakers desired to give audiences a proper ending to many aspects built-in prior movies. When it comes to action, No Time To Die once again delivers and doesn’t disappoint. Those who fear the lengthy runtime won’t need to worry, as the movie never felt dull. With a strong combination of thriller and action, this is an absolute blast right from the start. While the action felt like a step back at times compared to previous James Bond movies featuring Daniel Craig, I still found myself having a wonderful time with the level of action. There are always attempts to introduce a new type of action sequences that have yet to be shown in a Bond film. By this point, some viewers may feel Bond is some superhero, but I still found myself entertained. The musical score is beautiful. Hans Zimmer, the composer, has been influenced by many other musical numbers from past James Bond films. This was a true delight to hear classic musical numbers modernised for this new instalment, and fans of the 007 franchise will not be disappointed by what they hear. The musical score successfully captures the right emotions for everything on screen. The visuals, once again, do not disappoint. There are plenty of solid moments that have been shot with Imax Cameras. Action sequences and even shots of landscapes or even cities do not disappoint. Overall, as a Bond fan, I am rather happy with this fifth and final instalment of Daniel Craig as Bond. Once again, there is plenty of fun action and a plot that consists of many twists to keep the viewers guessing. The filmmakers have made many bold choices that I admire, and they honour fans with easter eggs from previous movies. The soundtrack is yet again another masterpiece. No Time To Die was made to please many fans and certainly succeeds. * This review has been written for Sanity.
