I LOVE the Resident Evil movies. Alice is definitely a bonus character in the movie franchise. You don't need to play the games to enjoy the movies. The animated movies are as close to the games through. Definitely entertaining and worth the watch.

It's no secret that Hollywood has always struggled to take a popular video game and transform it into a lively motion picture film. But one franchise stands out from the rest. Naturally I'm talking about the Resident Evil franchise which initially started back in 2002



The first film follows a young woman named Alice (Milla Jovovich). Alice wakes up in a bathroom with no memory of who she is or how she ended up on a bathroom floor inside a large mansion. Soon Alice learns that she works as a security operative for a company known as The Umbrella Corporation. The Umbrella Corporation specialises in many areas. Some of these include high tech weaponry and advanced technologies. But little does Alice know, The Umbrella Corporation has recently been successful with creating a virus which could wipe out the entire human race and turning innocent people into mindless zombies.



Thankfully Alice won't have to fight on her own. In the first instalment, Alice tags along with a special military unit who plan to take care of a group of flesh-eating zombies located at an underground laboratory. Their mission is to save the world by also destroying the virus within the laboratory.



While Alice, as a character is indeed not found within the Resident Evil video games, I'm happy to say the world that surrounds Alice most certainly does. As the franchise goes on, I was always pleased to see how many familiar characters do appear from the popular video game series, and we even see familiar locations and plot scenarios.



Even if you're not familiar with any of the Resident Evil games, this entire series can still be enjoyed by all movie lovers even more so for those who seek an over the top brainless action which includes plenty of zombies.
