Eisenberg for 16 musicians, composed by Globokar in 1990, is performed here by the University of Illinois New Music Ensemble. Much of Globokar's music is left to the performers pitches, rhythms texts to be sung, chanted, etc. but the composer prescribes a suitable framework so that each piece progresses along the lines he intended. The big orchestral piece Labour ploughing suggests the unfolding of a vast chaos within which recognizable objects or landscapes can be glimpsed as though illuminated by lightning flashes. Airs de voyages vers l'int+-rieur features Globokar on trombone and Michel Portal on clarinet; the vocal ensemble consists of Nada Zgur, Darija Hreljanovic soprano; Sabira Hajdarovic, Marina Strenar alto; Mleden Katanic, Josip Dern tenor; Tomaz Faganel, Joze Furst bass.
