Hetty Kate Under Paris Skies CD

Under Paris Skies is the latest release from British/Australian jazz vocalist Hetty Kate. An intimate album, it offers a glimpse into Hetty Kate's personal diary during her first year in Paris, a journal carefully crafted using her experiences and the melody and lyrics of the Great American Songbook.

Recorded over two years during breaks in her Australian tours, Under Paris Skies, and the time away from her adopted city, allowed Hetty Kate to distill the emotions and explore songs with the Melbourne musicians she knows the best. She worked with longtime collaborator guitarist James Sherlock and double bassist Ben Hanlon.

The new album follows the success of her 2014 release, Dim All the Lights (ABC Jazz/Universal). Jazz vocalist Hetty Kate has been active in the Australian jazz scene for over a decade and has released albums since 2009. Her career spans intimate clubs and concert halls, tours with swing bands and symphonies from New Zealand to New York, and over four years as vocalist for Australian jazz luminary James Morrison.

With a charismatic stage presence, natural musicality and a clear voice, Hetty Kate has built a solid reputation among audiences and musicians alike.
