Fred (Seth Rogen) is a passionate journalist who also has a quite and witty sense of humour. Fred decides to quit his job, and his best friend takes him out to a big event with hopes it will help cheer him up. During the event, Fred is reunited with Charlotte (Charlize Theron) who is currently campaigning to be the next president. Fred and Charlotte have zero things in common other than the fact that Charlotte used to babysit Fred when he was a kid. Fred naturally has an embarrassing for one night when Charlotte was babysitting him. The two strike up a conversation and Fred is offered a job to work on Charlotte’s speeches, and the two also develop a new close romantic relationship. The chemistry between our two leads is excellent. Actor Seth Rogen delivers yet again the similar type of character we have all seen before. You know what I mean- the random yelling, the use of drug references and witty humour. But to find Charlize Theron on screen in this type of fun comedy genre was great to see. I found the two actors are stronger in the film when they were both on-screen together. Take Seth Rogen away from Charlize Theron, and our movie become less fun and less exciting. Overall, I feel most Seth Rogan fans will know what to expect here: crude and yet witty humour but the fact he is being paired up with the stunning Academy Award-winning actress, Charlize Theron make the film quite fun. The two have fantastic chemistry, and those seeking a fun rom-com should most certainly check this out. * This review has been written for Sanity.
