The untold story of the world's greatest comedy act.

With their golden era long behind them, comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy embark on a variety hall tour of Britain and Ireland. PRODUCT REVIEWS

Set around the time when Laurel and Hardy were known as one of the most talented duos in comedy, this film shows us their work in Hollywood onscreen and on the stage. Our film delivers both genres comedy and drama. Laurel and Hardy’s humour is created through a mix of dancing, singing and comedy slapstick. This film focuses on the true story of our stars trying to revamp their careers instead of still doing the old thing on stage or begin to receive advertising deals to get by. We see them begin a tour of stage shows, currently with low attendance. It turns out the two are becoming older and are no longer the latest and greatest in show business. Can the two take their careers to the next level and make a film after their tour? Our leading actors Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly were brilliant regarding both performances and the complete transformation they underwent when it comes to costume and makeup. The makeup work alone will have viewers instantly forgetting who these actors are, for John C. Reilly, who has a full bodysuit with a face mask. I was generally surprised at how convincing they were as Laurel and Hardy. As an audience member, I found their onscreen friendship pleasing to see. Overall, I did not know a great deal about the famous Laurel & Hardy (even though I love films). I thought this film delivered wonderful performances from both Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly. I found myself rather pleased with this heartfelt film about friendship, laughter, and the challenges in life. A must watch! *This review has been written for Sanity.
