Excellent Movie - interesting plot

Set soon, a spacecraft travels to a new planet, transporting 5000 people to this new world. While everyone is fast asleep, one of the hibernation chambers (sleep pod) malfunctions, and we are introduced to Jim (Chris Pratt). As he wakes up, we follow him and seek the answers to the same questions together. Soon after a young female Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) also wakes. The catch is neither can re-enter sleep mode and wake far too early for their destination. How and why did this happen?   From this introduction, we are taken on a space ride of romance, suspense and mystery, but overall, the film's plot is fundamental. While the plot is essential, the surroundings of the plot and the actors are anything but small. Passenger's biggest strength is the large sci-fi world setting, which is perfect. From the film's start, we are also introduced to eerie (but beautiful) music supported by stunning visual effects and a jaw-dropping soundtrack. Our leads- no surprise- also acted well. More respect from me is given to Chris Pratt, as I enjoyed seeing him take the more severe path in his role. While Jennifer Lawrence is always excellent, her role didn't drop my jaw and made me feel I saw something new within her career. As stated, the film itself is fundamental and still entertaining. So many movies today want to be big on sci-fi effects and then get stung by overcomplicating the plot. The film is going for a simple plot with such a small cast, so it shouldn't miss anything. But it does. While overall, I speak with high positivity, the film does seem to skip over or ignore certain essential elements in the story. You'll be shocked if you're expecting a high-octane Die Hard in space. Nevertheless, it's enjoyable, fun, and sci-fi with a touch of romance. * This review has been written for Sanity. This movie has it all! Great cast, sci fi, romance and drama ..thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
