The Black Suns is an indie folk-rock band founded in Barcelona in 2008 by Nacho Newman (vocals, guitar and piano), Peter Navarro (guitar, piano), Jose Zurita (bass), Raúl Naro (guitar, keyboards) And Pau Beteke (drums, percussion). The band began their career under the name of 'Klaudia' and released their first EP entitled "First Approach" in 2009. Their first LP album was named "Mother Phoenix" in 2011. "The City's Sleeping" and "Oveja" were two of the singles broadcasted on MTV Spain. The Mother Phoenix album has a sound close to post-punk, with fast rhythms and dark atmospheres.

During the summer of 2012, the band transformed an old mechanical workshop at Clot (a Barcelona's quarter) into their own recording studio, building a room that provided the necessary tools to record their next album. Shortly after, the band decided to change its name and became "The Black Suns".

Afterwards the name change, they came closer to a folk style that is reflected in the songs of their most recent album 'Milk & Cookies', where you can find songs such as: "Copyright God", "There is no Tomorrow", "Lost", "Santa Cruz", "Under the Water", "Top of the World", "Rinah"," Mother God, Sister in Blue, Falling Rain (N14) and Venus Victory. Most of the album was recorded in the band's studio, so the creative process was more artisanal more detailed.

In 2013 Lucas Ariel Vallejos collaborated with the band in the pre-production and arrangement of some songs. All the songs were produced and mixed by the musician and technician Alberto Pérez at Sol de Sants Studios with the collaboration of The Black Suns, where they also recorded the piano of Under the Water, the string section of Santa Cruz, Falling Rain, Lost And Venus Victory by musicians Alba Haro and Aleix Puig Caminal, and some drums were played by Pau Beteke. Toni Mateos collaborated on the recording of There is No Tomorrow, Mother God and Venus Victory drums, and the North American drummer Chris Brush joined the project with the recording of the Santa Cruz at his studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

The mastering of the album was made by the French sound engineer Yves Roussel. The band publishes the album with their own record label "The Black Suns".

In 'Milk & Cookies' folk influences come out, with a high valvular sound presence in which they incorporate classical instruments like pianos, acoustic guitars and classic guitars. In his compositions it palpable the influences of artists like Wilco, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, The Beatles or David Bowie.
