The new album from Solkyri showcases the band’s first recorded output as a fourpiece and builds on their reputation as a pummelling, dynamic instrumental rock act. The young post-rockers’ latest effort was again recorded with producer Dax Liniere (Meniscus, Dumbsaint, sleepmakeswaves) across Canberra and Penrith. On the cusp of their first European tour, the release of ‘Sad Boys Club’ takes their penchant for memorable passages to the next level, with tight performances and layers of guitar tones washing across a driving rhythm section. Highlights abound from signature tracks ‘Yes, I’m Breathing’ and ‘Be, Good I Love You’ to the brilliantly crafted ‘Forrah’ and ‘Kidnapped’ which rank amongst their best material.
