Season 1
The Newsroom focus on the on- and off-camera lives of its acerbic anchor (Jeff Daniels), new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), their newsroom staff (John Gallagher Jr, Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their news-division boss (Sam Waterston). Overcoming a tumultuous first day together – climaxing in a newsflash that a BP oil rig has just exploded in the Gulf of Mexico – the team sets out on a patriotic if quixotic mission to “do the news well” in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles, and their own personal entanglements.

Season 2
It’s a year later and in the days leading up to Election Night 2012, the News Night team is facing a law suit in the aftermath of a news report about a suspicious US drone strike that turned out to be falsified. Meanwhile in an attempt to get away from the Maggie situation, Jim volunteers for life on the road covering the Presidential campaigns and Maggie’s first field assignment ends in tragedy.

Season 3
The final season of The Newsroom, the one-hour drama created by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and executive produced by Sorkin, Scott Rudin and Alan Poul.
