As suggested by the title, this debut album by Melissa Oliveira is just like an intoxicating colourful garden where only miraculously is it possible for such a variety of species to grow together sharing the same soil. That’s what sets this CD apart: the fact that 10 tracks show 10 different variety of flowers, branching out to samba, blues, world music, original tunes and twisted standards. One thing we know for sure: the land in which these flowers grow is unmistakably jazzy and the ability to make them flourish is due to this singer’s diverse background.
