Chelsea Light Moving is the current group led by Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore, recently named the #1 Guitarist Of All Time by Spin. He writes the songs, plays over-amped hyper electric guitar and sings with raw-glam-destructo vocals. Other members of the band are Keith Wood (aka Hush Arbors) on guitar; Samara Lubelski (who has played violin with TM on his last two solo LPs) on deep psyche pop metal bass guitar and John Moloney on drums. This time it hits hard with rock n roll noise. The man himself describes the tracks as “chug & shred burners,” and they hit the usual mind-blowing variety of rock-historical reference points and the primal clatter Thurston’s pioneered for over two decades.
