The Fureys were one of the most influential folk bands from Ireland that paved the way in popularizing traditional music.

Born into a family of musicians, three-time all-Ireland pipes champion Finbar Furey and his three brothers Eddie, Paul and George began playing together in the late seventies and were later joined by their friend Davey Arthur.

Their big break came with the international hit single “When You Were Sweet Sixteen” that went to #1 in Ireland, #14 in the UK and #9 in Australia.

The lineup has changed over the years, Finbar departed the group to pursue a solo career in the mid 90's and Paul tragically died in 2002. The group is now comprised of Eddie, George and Davey Arthur and they continue to tour regularly, performing as The Fureys & Davey Arthur.
