A$AP Rocky is Harlem born and raised rapper Rakim Mayers. He is a member of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob from which he adopted the first half of his name. A$AP gained a cult following via initially posting songs on Youtube and then also his critically acclaimed 2011 mixtape ‘LiveLoveA$AP’ which garnered rave reviews both in the US and overseas.
