New York Indie five-piece SONIC YOUTH formed in 1981 and soon after released their first full length studio album in 1983 titled: 'Confusion Is Sex' featuring a live cover of THE STOOGES "I Wanna Be Your Dog". From then, up until 2009, the band have released a multitude of albums including 'Daydream Nation'- with the hit single "Teen Age Riot" in 1988 to their most recent record 'The Eternal', which was out in 2009, featuring the singles "Sacred Trickster" and "Antenna". Sonic Youth's latest feat takes the audience back in time to 1983 when they were young, fresh and live. In autumn of 1985, SONIC YOUTH were touring the States following the release of their 'Bad Moon Rising' LP. Their performance at Chicago's Smart Bar was recorded on a 4-track cassette and consists of live versions of most of the songs from 'Bad Moon Rising', early performances of "Secret Girl" and "Expressway To Yr Skull" and a rare, never-before-released live rendition of "Kat 'N' Hat". Mixed and mastered by the band from the original tape source, this single-CD edition includes liner notes by American music executive Gerard Cosloy and Sonic Youth engineer Aaron Mullan, plus unpublished photos by Pat Blashill and Steven Koress.
