Texas, 1983: It was a time when life was easy...in a place they thought would never change.

Its 1983, and Skateland, the roller rink and local hangout of a small east Texas town, is becoming a fading memory of an earlier time, when disco and roller-skating were king. 19year-old Ritchie (Shiloh Fernandez, Red Riding Hood), happy working as manager there, watches on as his beloved rink slowly becomes irrelevant, his future uncertain and his love life clouded. As he parties his nights away going nowhere, his girlfriend Michelle (Ashley Greene, Twilight) encourages him to make something more of himself and notend up like her brother Brent - drunk and still trying to relive his glory days as a professional bike racer. As the roller rink is poised to close, and divorce and personal tragedies tear apartboth Ritchies and Michelles families, they find themselves leaving childhood behind, uncertain about what adulthood holds.
