Matt Pryor needs little or no introduction - he is best known as the singer/songwriter/guitarist for seminal emo group, THE GET UP KIDS. Aside from his work in The Get Up Kids, Pryor has also released six albums with The New Amsterdams, and a children's music combo, The Terrible Twos. Including his debut solo album, 'Confidence Man' (Vagrant 2008), this LP marks Pryor's fifteenth full-length release! 'May Day' stands as one of Pryor's finest records in any guise - loaded with his biting and insightful songwriting and distinctive vocal delivery. It came together effortlessly in May 2011, during a break in activity by TGUK. The album was funded via the fan-centric Kickstarter site, Pryor eschewing even an independent label in the US for the album's release, and releasing it via his own imprint. The record is direct and dynamic, with a raw purity akin to the later solo works of Paul Westerberg.
