In Marzipan, Chowder is the yummiest apprentice chef in town!
The new animated comedy series Chowder chronicles the magical misadventures of a young chef's apprenticeship in the fantastical city of Marzipan, where each day is filled with amazing and surreal situations and avoiding one disaster after another.
In Marzipan City, where Snail Cars crowd the streets and colorful citizens hustle and bustle, the Mung Daal Catering Company cooks up the most oddly delicious food. And that is exactly where Chowder, an aspiring young chef in training, likes to be. Under the watchful eye of the eccentric and much older Mung Daal, it is Chowder's job to assist with the usual kitchen duties, like cooking Sing Beans until they warble on key, nursing a bruised Bluenana back to health, or delivering a thousand-pound cake to a man who lives on the head of a giant.
Chowder is perfect for the job, because no one loves cooking or trying new foods as much as he does. He?s a sweet, impetuous and a thoroughly gullible little kid, and wherever he goes, chaos usually ensues. He may not be ready to be a chef on his own, but he?ll get there one day (if he doesn?t destroy the whole town trying). If Chowder could just spend every single second cooking in the kitchen with Mung Daal and Shnitzel, he would be pleased as punch.
Chowder, the Apprentice - Chowder yearns to be a great chef like his teacher, the older, eccentric Mung Daal. He's very eager and will work hard to get there. Chowder will dive into each chore with enthusiasm, because no one loves cooking or trying new foods as much as he does. He?s a sweet, impetuous, and thoroughly gullible little kid, and where he goes, chaos usually ensues. Chowder may not be ready to be a chef on his own yet, but he?ll get there one day (if he doesn't accidentally destroy the whole town trying)!
Mung Daal, the Master Chef - Mung Daal is a Master Chef and owns the Mung Daal Catering Company. He's exceedingly patient and very knowledgeable when it comes to cooking but extremely helpless when it comes to everything else. He pours his heart and soul into everything he cooks, from Froggy Apple Crumple Thumpkin to Sing Beans. He takes great delight in Chowder?s enthusiasm for food, but his warnings to Chowder about the hazards of certain ingredients always seem to come one second too late.
Shnitzel, the Employee - A long-time employee of the Daal's, Shnitzel?s specialty is baking, but he also does the heavy lifting in the kitchen. Years of cutting, chopping, washing and lots of other "ings" around the kitchen have left Shnitzel in a state of grumpiness. He finds Chowder no help in the kitchen and resents all the messes he causes. Shnitzel doesn't speak in any intelligible language, yet everyone understands him perfectly.
Ms. Endive, the Rival Chef - Ms. Endive is the bane of Mung Daal's existence and the only other Master Chef in town. She's perfect and wants everything perfect. To Ms. Endive, there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything and Mung Daal represents all the wrong ways.
Panini, the Rival Apprentice - Panini is Ms. Endive's apprentice and is madly in love with Chowder. She tends to take advantage of Chowder?s innocence and gullibility when trying to convince him they are boyfriend and girlfriend.
