Named after a section of the book White Noise, by Don DeLillo, the group incorporates string instruments and keyboards, along with a standard rock lineup of guitar, drums, and bass guitar.The Airborne Toxic Event had an unmastered track spinning on influential LA radio station KROQ just 3 weeks after it left the studio where the band were busy recording their debut album. They had no manager, no label and no publicist. The track was the heartbreaking debut single “Sometime Around Midnight”.Since the very early days of 2008, The Airborne Toxic Event have now been signed to Island Def Jam out of New York and the hype around the band extends well beyond the reach of KROQ Los Angeles.
