Based on two of Mervyn Peake's famous Gothic fantasy novels, and starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Bend it Like Beckham, Match Point) and Christopher Lee, Gormenghast is a tale of murder, seduction and tragedy. The glorious castle Gormenghast is home to the ancient family of Groan, who have ruled, unchallenged, for thousands of years. The dynasty becomes threatened by the charming and evil kitchen�boy Steerpike who, after the birth of the new heir Titus Groan, begins his ruthless ascent to power. As he charms, outwits and terrorises the castle's inhabitants, only Titus, the young and timid Earl of Groan, stands in Steerpike's way. Who will triumph? And can Gormenghast survive?
