‘One Plus One Is One’, the new album from Damon Gough aka Badly Drawn Boy, started life in June 2003 at Stockport’s Moulin Rouge Studio. Damon along with collaborator Andy Votel left behind the sonic shenanigans of previous album ‘Have You Fed The Fish?’ to concentrate on making a stripped down, organic new album. Computer free, it feels like Badly Drawn Boy’s most accomplished album yet.

Flitting from the gentle title track through to the raucous ‘Summertime In Wintertime’, ‘One Plus One Is One’ consistently thrills and enchants bringing the listener an assortment of moods and experiences. Album highlights include the heartfelt ‘This Is That New Song’, the epic ‘Year Of The Rat’ and the divine ‘Logic Of A Friend’ on a record that is a joy from start to finish. One of the finest songwriters working in Britain has come up trumps again with another mind-blowing set of incredibly realised tunes.
