Children’s shows come and go, but once in a while a show will stand out amongst the pack and gain the attention of nearly every kid. That show at the moment is ‘Bluey’. The show follows a Blue Heeler Cattle Dog named ‘Bluey’ as she has fun with her family and friends in everyday situations. The show is funny but also educational, transcending the genre to provide entertainment for kids but also giving the parents something to enjoy as well. Today I am going to give you three reasons why you need to get Bluey on DVD for your kids and your sanity.
1. The educational elements – the show deals with everyday life and puts Bluey in many different situations. By putting our characters in these realistic scenarios, it provides kids with the education of how to handle these situations in a realistic manner. The show never feels preachy, but rather speaks to kids on their level in a fun and unique, like the best kids' show do. Parents can feel at ease knowing that their kids are watching something that’s fun but also educational, giving them relevant life lessons that a child may be faced with.
2. The Characters – Bluey and the cast of characters are all fantastic. It always hard to find a character that kids can really relate to. Yes, Bluey is a talking cattle-dog, but the character herself is quite relatable, allowing kids to really connect with Bluey in a deeper more meaningful way. Parents can also relate to the characters as well, with a fun portrayal of Blueys parents. At its core, the characters never get annoying, which is a plus side for parents, especially when the kids are going to have the show on repeat for a couple of years.
3. The animation – this one is more for the parents, as long as the show is colorful, the young ones really won’t care a great deal, however, for the adults an animated, kids show needs to be a little more than that and ‘Bluey’ does exactly that. The show is colourful, but the animation really does stand out. It feels well-produced and polished, which a lot of children’s shows are lacking. Each character has its own distinct design and characteristics which are bought to life by the fun animation.
Bluey has a lot to offer. It is fun, educational and all-round entertaining. It will keep the kids entertained and also will prove to be a little fun for parents as well.
