At the end of May BTS dropped the funky track ‘Butter’ which heard them returning to the big pop sound behind their first English performed single ‘Dynamite’. The track immediately became a fan favourite and saw them performing it live at the Billboard Music Awards, Good Morning America and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The group have excitingly released the CD single of ‘Butter’ which features the instrumental and an exciting new B-Side, ‘Permission To Dance’. Co-written by Ed Sheeran, this track is a playful pop-dance song all about the exhilarating feeling of new love. “It's the thought of being young. When your heart's just like a drum beating louder with no way to guard it” Jung Kook sings during the opening lines. As the song progresses they serenade the listener with the line; “Don't need to talk the talk, just walk the walk tonight cause we don't need permission to dance”.
Sonically it feels like an appropriate sequel to ‘Butter’ with its groove laden pop beats with some nostalgic synths layered in the production. It’s a radiating positive track that will have you feeling all loved up and ready to dance the night away.
Make sure you pay attention to their dance moves in the MV for those hard of hearing - they've communicated their message about dancing in sign language too!
