4 Reasons Why You Need To Buy Jackass Forever

As a big Jackass fan, I was highly anticipating the newest entry in the 20 year old franchise 'Jackass: Forever', since its announcement back in 2018. The Jackass crew have become a mainstay in popular culture, with the cast and crew becoming a family and us as an audience have been able to see that over the now 5 films and of course the tv series that started the whole craze. With Jackass: Forever hitting shelves on April 20th, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you the 4 reasons you need to pick-up Jackass Forever on DVD or Blu-Ray. So without further ado, let's get into it!

The Cast & Crew - After working with each other over the course of 20 years, the Jackass team have grown to be a family. We have seen many members of the cast come and go, with the tragic passing of Ryan Dunn in 2011 being one of the biggest missing pieces from the most recent instalment. However, the cast has grown over this time with newbies Sean McInery, Zach Holmes, Rachel Wolfson and Eric Manaka all fitting into the team so effortlessly. Jackass: Forever boasts the biggest cast I have ever seen in a Jackass film, with guest stars such as Machine Gun Kelly aka Colson Baker, Eric Andre, Tyler The Creator, producer and Oscar Winner Spike Jonze, Tony Hawk, Francis Nganou and NHL player P.K. Subban. So many big names round out this cast, but the core Jackass cast and crew is where the heart is. Johnny Knocksville, Steve-O, Director Jeff Tremaine, Dave Englund, Preston Lacy, Wee-Man and Chris Pontious, are all so good here. You really feel the sense of community and family among this group of people. Through all their injuries, everything they've been through, they are still incredibly close and grounded individuals. It was great to see them all on-screen together again. 

The Stunts - As we have come to expect from a Jackass film, the stunts in Jackass:Forever are as wild, bone crunching and crazy as ever. One of the main reasons we watch a film in the Jackass franchise is to see the pain that the cast put themselves through and they do not let us down here. With Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville, Dave Englund and Preston Lacy all in their 50s, you feel every stunt so much more in this film. Seeing Johnny take on a bull at 50 will make you cringe, but will also make you want to stand up and cheer. It is one of those things, where you realise the pain that they're about to put themselves through for our entertainment, you don't want to watch it, but simultaneously, you can't look away. It's all a part of the process of watching a Jackass film and I love what these guys will go through for the entertainment of their audience. It's truly something to behold and one of the best elements of Jackass: Forever. 

The Jokes and Pranks - In addition to the stunts, the pranks and jokes the crew pull off in the Jackass series are always top notch. Jackass: Forever is no exception, with some of the series' best pranks and gags featured in this one. Multiple times throughout I was in stitches. There is a great prank on Eric Andrew involving a mechanical fist and coffee, a hidden camera gag with everyone's favourite Bad Grandpa Irving Zisman and a couple of tasers, some snakes and a lot of darkness. These gags are all fantastic and hilarious. Like I said, I was in stitches, consistently laughing throughout. Jackass: Forever might just be the funniest in the series and there is no hyperbole behind that statement, I genuinely mean it! 

The legacy of Jackass - I briefly touched on this with the cast and crew, but the legacy of the Jackass crew is a big part of why these movies are as entertaining and well regarded as they are. On the surface, Jackass: Forever may feel juvenile and childish, but if you look between the gross out gags there is a real connection and comradery among the crew. They are really passing the torch to the next generation of Jackass's and I love the way it's handled. If you watch through the credits we get a glimpse of some behind the scenes bloopers and a touching tribute to the late, great Ryan Dunn. It is sweet and there is a lot of sentiment behind this. I respect the way the cast and crew handled it. I bet you never thought that touching, sentiment and Jackass: Forever would ever be used in the same sentence, but here we are and I am standing by it! 

Jackass: Forever is a well-rounded, love letter to fans of the Jackass series and films. The film has a heart and soul which is something I was not expecting from the five installment in the Jackass film franchise. This is a must have for comedy efficinados and those wanting just a good time.
